300-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training — Breathwork & Sound Integration

at Emberleaf Sri Lanka · Midigama

Why this one

Program highlights

  • Genuine continuing education for already-certified teachers, not a repeat of 200-hour material
  • Integrates breathwork and sound healing modules, not just deeper asana — Emberleaf's actual specialty
  • Small cohort of 10 with two lead facilitators for the full 5 weeks
  • A self-directed specialization project in the final week, mentored one-on-one
Set the right expectations

Is this training for you?

Good fit if
  • You already hold a 200-hour certificate and want to genuinely deepen your teaching, not repeat foundational material
  • You want breathwork and sound healing folded into your yoga teaching, not treated as a separate specialty
  • You can commit to the full 5 weeks on-site — this isn't a modular or weekend format
Look elsewhere if
  • You don't yet hold a 200-hour certificate — this is genuinely advanced-level, not an entry point
  • You're looking for a short intensive — 5 weeks is a real commitment, not a taster
  • You want a program pre-affiliated with Yoga Alliance at 500-hour status — confirm registration requirements yourself before enrolling
What you'll actually study

What you'll learn

Advanced Asana & Sequencing Theory — 70h

Building full arcs across a class or multi-week series, beyond the pose-by-pose focus of a 200-hour program.

Breathwork Facilitation for Yoga Teachers — 60h

Conscious connected breathing and pranayama techniques specifically framed for integration into a yoga class, taught by Emberleaf's resident breathwork facilitator.

Sound Healing Integration — 40h

Using bowls, gong and handpan within a yoga class rather than as a standalone modality — savasana work, opening tones, closing integration.

Advanced Anatomy & Injury Prevention — 40h

Deeper functional anatomy than a 200-hour program covers, with a focus on adjusting for common long-term student injuries.

Teaching Practicum & Mentorship — 60h

Supervised teaching of full classes to real drop-in students at Emberleaf, with direct feedback from both lead facilitators.

Self-Directed Specialization Project — 30h

A final-week project in an area you choose — a themed workshop series, a specific population (prenatal, seniors, athletes), or a deeper breathwork or sound specialty — mentored one-on-one.

Meet your lead teacher

Kavindu Silva
Lead Teacher, Yoga & Breathwork
Advanced study in Vinyasa and breathwork facilitation (in-house, not externally accredited)
Leads Emberleaf's regular yoga and breathwork programming and has taught several 200-hour trainings elsewhere before developing this advanced program specifically to integrate breathwork and sound rather than just extend asana hours. Co-teaches the sound healing module with Emberleaf's in-house sound facilitator.
What you walk away with

Certification

Program hours
300 hours
Certifying body
None — in-house certificate

Graduates receive an in-house 300-hour advanced completion certificate from Emberleaf. Combined with a prior 200-hour certificate, this is commonly enough to register as a 500-hour teacher with Yoga Alliance, but Emberleaf itself is not currently a Yoga Alliance-affiliated school — confirm current registration requirements before enrolling if that combination matters to you.

Best for
Facilitators and individual travelers prioritizing breathwork or sound healing as the central practice of their stay, rather than an add-on to yoga.

A jungle-set space in Midigama that has become a reference point for breathwork and sound healing on Sri Lanka's south coast. Emberleaf builds its programs around small groups and strong facilitation rather than volume, which is part of why practitioners travel here specifically for this work rather than as a side activity during a broader trip. Yoga runs alongside the breathwork and sound offering, sharing the same intentional, unhurried pace.

Frequently asked questions

1Do I need my 200-hour certificate from a specific school?+
No — a 200-hour certificate from any school is accepted, as long as you can show documentation of it when you enquire.
2Does this combine with my 200-hour to make 500-hour Yoga Alliance status?+
In terms of hours, yes — 200 plus 300 meets Yoga Alliance's 500-hour threshold. But Emberleaf itself isn't currently a Yoga Alliance-affiliated school, so confirm with Yoga Alliance directly how they treat hours from a non-affiliated 300-hour program before assuming it will register cleanly.
3Can I do this without prior breathwork or sound healing experience?+
Yes — those modules are taught from the ground up as part of the curriculum. You don't need prior experience in either, just a completed 200-hour yoga certificate.
4Is the full 5 weeks mandatory, or can I join partway through?+
The full 35 days are required — the curriculum builds progressively and the final specialization project depends on everything covered before it.
5Do I need a visa for Sri Lanka?+
Citizens of many countries get visa-free entry or can apply for a low-cost ETA online before travelling. We'll confirm the latest requirements for your nationality once you enquire.
6How do I get to Emberleaf from the airport?+
Fly into Colombo (CMB), then it's roughly a 2.5-3 hour drive down the south coast to Midigama. Emberleaf can help arrange transport — ask when you enquire.
